Deep Conditioning Treatments for Your Hair and the Benefits

Do you have dry, brittle hair? Damaged or frizzy hair? If so, deep conditioning will often prove to be your saving grace. Many women worldwide practice the ritual of deep conditioning, which helps improve hair health. Deep conditioners are packed with nutrients and moisturizing ingredients that reenergize hair.

What is Deep Conditioning?

It is a process in which your hair is coated thoroughly and treated with a nourishing product. It restores moisture, strengthens hair, and improves symptoms of damage caused by chemicals and thermal tools. Below are the steps on how to deep condition hair:

Step 1 - Choose Your Product

Your tresses play a significant role in determining the product you should use. Many products claim to restore lost moisture, but we must ensure the treatment is specific to your individual hair needs. I recommend my favourite deep conditioning treatment - Redavid’s Orchid Oil Reconstructive Mask, tailored towards all hair types.

Step 2 - Wash Your Hair

You always need to ensure your hair is clean and the scalp is free of excessive oils. Be sure to use a shampoo that gently removes oils and doesn’t strip the hair from its essential oils, such as Cederwood Shampoo from Redavid. Feel free to shampoo twice if necessary.

Step 3 - Apply Your Deep Conditioner

Apply the product on your hair shaft; avoid getting on the roots while working it down to the ends. Ensure that your ends, which tend to be the driest, receive a sufficient amount of product.

Step 4 - Allow Your Product To Set In

I usually suggest leaving the hair mask on for a minimum of 15 mins, but of course, you can go longer! This allows the hair to absorb the product and receive all the benefits.

Step 5 - Rinse With Cool Water

Rinse your hair with cool water to allow the hair cuticles to seal up. If you can, let your hair dry naturally!

The benefits are endless with deep conditioning. Enjoy hydration, reduce damage, improve shine, and strengthen hair!
